TUDOR WILLIAMS PRESS RELEASE
NEW MALDEN, SURREY • MARCH 5TH, 2019
One of the areas most loved family-run department stores, TUDOR WILLIAMS, is greatly saddened to announce its intention to close after over 100 years of trading in New Malden.
“Despite the tremendous effort by our New Malden management and staff and the extensive refurbishment, the store has unfortunately not seen the necessary improvement in sales”, said John Morris, Group Managing Director, “with ongoing rising costs, and the tough retail climate, it is with the greatest of reluctance we have concluded that we are unable to continue trading at the store”.
Neither our Dorking store nor our sister store, Elphicks of Farnham, which has recently undergone a major refurbishment, are affected by this decision and will continue to trade as normal.”
We would like to thank all those employees past and present, who made the business what it was. We would also like to extend our warm appreciation to our many customers who have supported us so loyally. To the present group of staff we extend our heart felt gratitude.
The New Malden Store located at 53-59 High Street, Surrey shall be selling out all stock and any special orders taken will be administered through our Elphicks of Farnham Store.
The Lynch Sales Company, an internationally known sale event specialist, based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States, who also have a branch office in Emsworth, Hampshire, United Kingdom, will coordinate the Sale.
